A Style for Everyone, Copenhagens Spring Style Influence

With a new year of fashion lets take a look at some of 2022s street fashion to gain some inspiration. In this post we are exploring Copenhagen's street style, for they have been a fashion forefront for inspiration when it comes to style. As we are exiting winter lets take a look back into Copenhagen's Spring 2022 street style as we enter the new season. Copenhagen is the fashion capital of Scandinavia and a rising influence on global style. The fashion is quite versatile in terms of their style aesthetic, ranging from chic, minimalist, neutral tones of everyday wear to a new style of bright colors, fun patterns, and eclectic aesthetic.

With Copenhagen's 2023 Spring Fashion week in August we were able to see a glimpse of some upcoming trends for spring season. Through the street style of those in attendance we can see the different sides of Copenhagen's style for warmer weather. Starting with the style Copenhagen is known for, chic minimalist comfort. A term coined by the Danish, “Hygge” fashion is a philosophy that is centered around creating a cozy, peaceful environment. This is representative in relaxed silhouettes, muted neutral tones, and beautiful textures to create an effortless minimalist style.

Along with this classic aesthetic a new fashion identity in Copenhagen is arising, bold eclectic individualism. A great distinction from Copenhagen's known fashion aesthetic, we start to see mixed patterns, bright colors, accentuating silhouettes, and more focus on accessories. This emerging bold aesthetic is already becoming a global influence in the trends for spring and summer.

From exploring Copenhagen's street style we are able to see the ranging aesthetics that gives inspiration to individual styles. As spring rounds the corner we can take some influence from their street fashion and incorporate it into our style. From those who love a minimalist look, we can look at Copenhagens relaxed silhouettes and muted earth tones, while adding different textures to elevate our fits. To those on the other spectrum who love to express with clothing through a bold pink or green, fun patterns, and oversized silhouettes. Pulling inspiration from each aesthetic to enhance your style for spring.

Spring Style Inspiration

Let's highlight certain style aspects to help elevate your outfits for spring season.

In this outfit there are many style components to pull inspiration from. The elongating shape created with the long sleeve shirt over a maxi skirt. Along with the pastel mix of cool and warm tones, screams spring. 

The trend of multiple layering has become a growing trend that has translated globally. Through the layering of skirts or dresses over pants and jeans can elevate a simple look and give dimension. 

Accessories has become a staple when putting an outfit together for it can bring your style to the next level. Through belts, handbags, jewelry, ribbons, glasses, and many more. 

Oversized clothing has shown to be lasting trend, but learning to elevate this trend is what makes it last. Large and baggy jeans, shorts, pants have become a new staple in my wardrobe as it give comfortability and style. 

Low-waisted bottoms a new fashion staple, but not everyones cup of tea. This is a great way to style low waisted pieces, not showing mid-drift but still elongating the torso.

Fashion has a global influence with each City/State/Country having such unique aesthetic and style. Through exploring street fashion globally we are able to see what real people are wearing to learn more about their fashion culture.
